Melinda Miguel - Teacher

Melinda is a professional cellist, pianist and fully qualified music teacher (QTS) specialised in whole class instrumental teaching. She uses a wide range of teaching methodologies like the Suzuki and Kodaly methods. Qualified Suzuki cello teacher and Early Childhood educator, she holds a Master (MMus) in Performance and Research from the Royal Academy of Music and a Bachelor in Music and Postgraduate Diploma in chamber music from the Rotterdam University of the Arts. Melinda has delivered the National Curriculum for the past eight years in state and independent Primary and Secondary Schools in the UK and helped develop the Wider Opportunities programme (cello) for the Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. She has been working as Lead Instrumental Teacher for the Tri-Borough Music Hub and successfully managed the Saturday music School at Marylebone (London). She leads several children’s orchestras and ensembles and is regularly invited to teach workshops and pedagogical concerts. Melinda currently combines her performing and teaching careers, working as a Music Coordinator/Teacher at a primary school in Braintree and has recently moved her private music teaching studio at Beaulieu, Chelmsford.
